Aside from going out to dinner and a movie there aren’t many entertainment options in Orangeville. This is why we decided to start up dance classes for adults in Orangeville, a few years ago. Dancing is a fun alternative to sitting at home and watching TV or going out to the movies. Dancing also has a myriad of health benefits that are missing from the coach potato life. It gets you out of the house and doing something that is fun and challenging both mentally and physically, every week.
What Experience Has Taught Us.
Experience has taught us that no matter what kind of day we’ve had or how we feel at the start of a class, our emotional well being will always be improved by the end of a class. This is a phenomenon also shared by most our students, but don’t take our word for it, read our testimonials page.
Experience has also taught us that everyone can be taught to dance; however, how quickly that happens does vary. Some people possess the ability to pick things up very quickly, while most people need tons of repetition before the steps stick with them. We always gage our teaching speed according to how the class is doing as a whole, and experience has taught us you can never teach too slowly. Nonetheless, in the last few years we’ve always managed to cover at least 5 step patterns for 7 different dances in our 15 hour Level 1 & 2 classes.
Why Everyone Should Try Dancing.
If you’ve never taken dance lessons before you might be thinking you could never pick it up, but nothing could be further from the truth. Everyone can learn to dance. Dancing has so many physical, emotional, and mental benefits, that to simply dismiss it as “something you could never do”, is missing out on a huge opportunity to add joy and well being to your life.
Persistence Pays Off
Some of our students have been with us since day one, and some say they’ll be with us until they are old and gray. As with ourselves, they didn’t get it overnight, but they stuck with it and over time they’ve become more and more adept at it. As everyone knows, persistence pays off. We want to help everyone get there and continue to have a weekly entertainment alternative in Orangeville that doesn’t involve just sitting and eating. This is why we are now offering a weekly dance practice time for only $5, for anyone wishing to practice what they’ve learned in class, get extra help if they need it, or just have an enjoyable night out without the expensive price tag. When it comes to learning to dance, persistence does pay off!

This coming Saturday night you are invited to our All-Student (and friends) End of Term Practice/Dance!
Doors open at 6.45 p.m.
Admission is $13/single, or $25/couple.
Dress Code is in effect i.e. “no jeans please”.
Please note everyone is more or less in the same boat i.e. can’t remember 1/2 the steps and needing lots of practice. Whether it’s been awhile since you took a Ballroom class, or you just finished a level with us but missed a few classes (or even if you’re checking us out for the first time), we’ll help you get the most out of the evening, by giving short dance step reviews of what was taught in Levels 1 and 2 throughout the course of the evening. This dance will provide a unique opportunity to meet the Orangeville and its surrounding areas Ballroom and Latin dance community enthusiasts. Come one, Come all, and everyone please feel free to bring a guest(s), just let us know if you are please.
Coffee, tea, snacks and light meal are included with your admission. Please RSVP upon receipt of this invite, so we can get an approxiamate headcount and so others will know you’re coming.
Also, if you have friends you think would enjoy our classes please invite them to come as well on Saturday so they can get a taste of what it’s all about.
As a final note, for those of you who’d like to keep your newly acquired dance skills fresh and improving, throughout the summer there will be a total of 7 Sunday dance practices at the Avalon starting at 7 p.m. (guests are welcome as well) At each practice we will be reviewing and featuring one of the 7 dances you learned this term. Admission to the summer dance practices is $5/person, and includes a bottle of water.

Dear Students and Friends,
We have reduced the overall number of classes we will be offering for the Fall 2011 term, but we have added two new classes; Level 3 Latin and Ballroom as well as Salsa Nightclub Level 1.
In addition we will be switching to a 75 minute class format, but our overall low introductory pricing will be staying the same, i.e. $156 for singles and $312 for couples for all 12 classes. Early sign up is recommended to avoid disappointment.
Starting this month we will be inviting all of our students to monthly dances. This June 25th’s dance will be hosted by ourselves right in Orangeville, for more information please visit our events page. Other dance outings, such as the ones in July and August will be held at popular Ballroom venues outside of Orangeville.
We are certain you will all feel at ease during these outings as you will be amongst friends who have been taught the same steps and are, for the most part, in the same place in their dancing ability.
We are also switching our class demonstration videos, from the current view on-line only format to a more versatile, download only format. We will be notifying everyone when this update is complete.
Finally, please note, for a limited time we have reduced our private lesson fees to a very affordable rate of only $30/hr. Don’t allow yourselves to become rusty this summer, keep what you have learned fresh through taking some private lessons. Kim and Peter are available all day on June 25th at the Orangeville Fairgrounds for anyone wishing to get a private lesson. Please call in advance to book your time.
